Just Scroll Down & Listen Gringos

Es casi Navidad y eso significa que me voy a volver a casa al sur de Florida.  Es siempre una Navidad blanco porque nosotros estamos rodeados de arena blanca.  Me encanta.

Disfruta.

The Grow & Go

Well, it’s that time of year again.  Men everywhere are throwing caution to the wind and letting their inner selves out the only way we know how: Mustaches.  Such a simple thing can be styled (or not) to show off a man’s true colors.  It’s only fitting that after a month of donning pink and wearing ribbons for breast cancer awareness month, that the ladies respect the ticklers for prostate cancer awareness month.

And wouldn’t you know it one of my all time favorite producers, Lange, has just released “Lange Remixed.”  His latest album since last year’s amazing “Harmonic Motion,” this two-disc compilation is composed of 29 reworked tracks.  The best part about Lange albums?  He always includes full continuous a DJ mix at the end of the disc.  But wait a minute… Lange Remixed has 2x the discs… That couldn’t mean what I think it means, could it?  Fuck.  Yes.  Well worth the purchase.

So have a go, and don’t forget to grow.

Trick or Beat

I have always been a huge Kaskade fan.  But last night, Ryan Raddon outdid himself.  The atmosphere was absolutely electric as we celebrated the release of his new album “Fire & Ice” at the Roseland Ballroom, NYC.  The album comes in a two disc collection, each containing the same songs.  Confused?  Don’t be.  The two disc’s are mirror images of each other set in two parallel universes of music.  Disc one (Fire) contains nothing but scorching hot club bangers while disc two (Ice) provides you with chilling remixes of Fire.

Kaskade warmed up the crowd with an opening sequence of both versions of “Eyes,” and after that is was nonstop dancing.  The headliner was precluded by up & coming Swedish sensation Alesso.  He was absolutely phenomenal.  Dropping one of the top jams of the summer, “Calling” with Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso opened his set with a new Halloween inspired track, “Raise Your Head.”  I expect nothing but good things to come out of this 18 year old.

Here are a few songs from the night to wet your whistle:

Alesso – Raise Your Head

Kaskade – Eyes feat. Mindy Gledhill

Kaskade – Lessons In Love feat. Neon Trees

Kaskade – Lick It feat. Skrillex

DaRelectric is hot. Super hot. One can find her playing at unpretentious gigs, or on the streets in Queens and Brooklyn. No matter where she’s playing, there is always a crowd.

Having seen several of DaRelectic’s amazing outdoor sets, I’m almost sad that it is winter, (although I do love the snow), because it means I’ll be confined to attending parties indoors, and lets face it, that is only ‘cool’ for so long.  There is something to be said about stopping on the street to hear someone play, deciding to stay because the music gets to you, and deciding then and there that now is the perfect time for a mad dance session….

Only 244 more days till summer…not that I’m counting or anything…
